These terms govern your use of Color Hunt ("the app"), an Android application published by Hugo Software. By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. The app and its contents — including its code, its design and its curated color names — remain our property.

What the app is

Color Hunt gives you one color each day and invites you to find it in the world around you. It is a game and a calm daily ritual. It is not a color-measurement instrument.

Colors are sampled through your phone's camera, which applies its own automatic white balance, exposure and processing. The color the app reports is therefore an approximation influenced by lighting conditions and by your device's hardware. Do not rely on it for paint matching, printing, design specification, quality control or any other purpose where color accuracy matters.

Price

Version 1.0 of the app is free. It contains no advertising, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. We may introduce optional paid features in a future version; if we do, anything you already have will not be taken away from you.

Your content

Photos you capture and colors you catch are yours. They are stored on your device, not on our systems — we have no server and never receive them. You are responsible for what you photograph, and for respecting the privacy and property of others while you use the app in public.

Acceptable use

Please use common sense and stay safe. Do not use the app while driving, cycling or operating machinery, and do not trespass, endanger yourself or others, or ignore local laws and signage in order to photograph something. You must not reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell the app, or attempt to disrupt it.

Availability

We provide the app "as is" and "as available". We may update, change or discontinue it, and we do not promise that it will be free of errors or that it will work on every device.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data stored on your device, or for any decision made in reliance on a color reported by the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.

Store terms

The app is distributed through Google Play, and your use of it is also subject to Google Play's own terms.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The current version is always available at this address.
