Color Hunt ("the app") is a daily color-spotting game for Android, published by Hugo Software. The app is designed to work entirely offline and to keep everything you capture on your device. We collect no personal data.

We have no server

Color Hunt has no account system, no sign-up, no login and no backend of its own. The app is shipped as a self-contained offline bundle. There is nowhere for your data to go, because there is no server to send it to.

Your photos and colors stay on your device

Every photo you capture and every color you catch — along with its name, hex value, date and the palette it belongs to — is stored only on your device, in the app's local storage. Your streak, your calendar and your settings are local too. We never receive, upload, back up or look at any of it.

This information leaves your device only if you deliberately export a poster or a color card and share it yourself through Android's share sheet. In that case you choose the destination, and that destination's own privacy policy applies.

Camera

The camera permission is used only while the hunt screen is open. The live viewfinder lets the app read the color under the crosshair, and a photo is saved only when you press the shutter yourself.

Camera frames are processed on your device, in memory, purely to calculate a color. They are never uploaded, never sent anywhere and never stored, except as the photo you deliberately capture. The camera stops when you leave the hunt screen or send the app to the background. Nothing is ever recorded in the background, and the app does not record video or use the microphone.

If you prefer not to grant camera access, the app still works: you can pick an existing photo instead and sample the color from that.

No advertising, no analytics, no tracking

Color Hunt contains no advertising SDK of any kind. No advertising ID is read or processed, and there are no ads anywhere in the app. It also contains no third-party analytics and no crash-reporting SDK. There is no tracking, no profiling and no device fingerprinting.

Network activity

Under normal use the app makes no outbound network requests at all. It does not fetch configuration, it does not phone home, and it does not need an internet connection to work.

Payments

Version 1.0 of Color Hunt is completely free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no paid features, so we never receive or store any payment information.

Location, contacts and other permissions

The app does not request or use your location, your contacts, your microphone, your call logs or any other sensitive permission. The only permission it declares is the camera, and that permission is optional.

Children

Color Hunt is a general-audience app. It contains no ads, collects no data and has no social features, but it is not specifically directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it: delete individual catches inside the app, clear the app's storage from Android settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything permanently. We hold no copy anywhere, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. See the data removal page for details.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. Because we hold no personal data about you at all, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase — your data is already entirely in your own hands.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The current version is always available at this address.
